Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Swagman Paramount Tailgate Pad on the back of our 2022 Ram 2500. If you have a multitude of bikes and you're looking to transport them to a location but you don't wanna keep them in the bed where they'll roll around, scratch themselves in the bed and you maybe are already towing something or you just don't feel like the added length of a bike rack that can support that many bikes, a pad like this might be a good option for you. This Swagman Paramount Pad is actually capable of supporting up to seven bikes along the way, held in place by these hook and loop straps. To get our bike loaded up, first thing we need to do is open one of these straps up and have it ready. I will say for the Ram 2500, it is definitely a taller vehicle, so getting the bike on and off might be a challenge for you. more

So looking at the Gatemate Pro, we are using the 53 inch version today. The reason being is we do have a roll-up tonneau cover and we didn't want to have any interference with clearance issues, if we we're using the larger eight bike 60 inch version. So this one does accommodate seven bikes and it is a great option when it comes to not wanting to add any extra length on a full-sized truck like this with a hitch mounted bike rack.So looking a little closer, you can see that we have kind of these padded separators. more

It's not going to require you to put anything on your hitch and add a little bit of length to the back of your truck. And of course, with the truck being a little bit taller, it's probably not the best idea to put it up on the roof.So right now, we can actually go ahead and put five bikes on here. It is going to be a little cramped, but with the 54 inches that we have here, it's going to be good enough. This will fit on mid-sized trucks and also just your full-sized trucks. more

This allows your bike do drape right over the back.With your pad in place you can see here that the bike's going to easily sit right over your tailgate, freeing up some space, and it's going to protect from any scratches or abrasions on your vehicle. It's 62 inches across, which will allow you to easily mount two bikes, and keep them from contacting each other. Today on this 2016 Ram 1500 we're going to be showing you the Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed bike rack, part number TH501. How the bike is actually attached to the rack it's going to have 1 point of contact and that's going to be at the wheel hook here. That holds it in place while it's in the bed of your truck. To loosen that up there's a button at the bottom here. You push that in and that will loosen up the hook enabling you to lower it and take out the bike. Today, on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Softride Shuttle Pad Tailgate Bike Carrier, part number SR26457. Today on this 2016 RAM1500 we are going to test fitting the inno velo gripper bike rack for truck beds, part number INRT201. As you can see, we already have the bike installed on our clamps. If you come over here, we will show off some of the features here. It grips it at 2 points of contact to the bike's frame at these wheel mounts here. It has these strips that hold it in place, as well as these anker points on the clamps so you can have additional straps to hold them in place which you can find on etrailer.com. Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we're going to go ahead and do a test fit of the Swagman Pick-Up Truck-Bed-Mounted 2-Bike Rack. This would be Part Number S64702. First thing we're going to do is you're going to locate the locking mechanism. We'll go ahead and take our key, insert it with the tip down, and go ahead and turn that one full turn, and pull it out. Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Today, on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Gate Mate. This is a padded tailgate cover that'll also act as a bike rack. Its part number is TH824. To begin our test fit, we're going to place the Gate Mate right up over our tailgate. This is the one designed for the wider width, so it's 62" wide. As you'll see, we're going to have 3 straps hanging off the front of it. These straps need to be fed around the underside of our tailgate, and we'll fit them into the clips that are on the backside. more

Swagman Pick Up Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Pickup, this is a bed mounted two bike rack. It's designed with the fork clamp style bike holders. It's part number is S64702. To begin the test fit, we first need to roughly size our bike rack. To do this, we're going to pull out on the side here on the passenger side. It's a ratcheting style system, so as you pull it out, the small catch here is going to catch in and hold that position in for us. Slide it out far enough to where it makes contact with the bed rail, then we'll find a fixed point to use on both sides to be sure we have both of the bed rail holders in line with one another. more

Thule Gate Mate Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500, well be test fitting the Thule Gate Mate tailgate pad and bike rack for full size trucks, part number TH824. Well begin our test fit by first draping the gate mate over the truck bed tailgate. Youre going to make sure that the opening with the envelope shaped flap is facing the outside. This flap will give you access to the tailgate handle. Once thats down, we can then take one of the straps and lower the tailgate down to about a 45 degree angle. Well thread the strap up through the bottom of the tailgate and the base of the truck bed. Well then reach around to the inside of the truck bed and pull the strap up. more

Swagman Pick-Up Truck Bed Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Pickup Truck Bed Mounted Two Bike Rack, part number S64702. We'll begin our test fit by placing one end of the bike rack onto the drivers side bed rail, just to give us an idea of how wide we need to make the bike rack. Now the other end of the bike rack doesn't reach the passenger side bed rail, so we'll need to push in the silver button and telescope the bike rack outward. You'll need it make it a little bit wider than the width of the bed. With the one end of the bike rack on the drivers side, we'll take the other end at the passenger side and insert the other end at an angle on the passenger side bed rail. We'll then push the pad up onto the bed rail making sure the bike rack is perpendicular to the bed rails of our pickup. Now that's nice and snug, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll need to double check to make our skewer is loose and the forks of our bike can slide down onto it. more
